Does anyone have any ideas how to go about getting press coverage for a yoga school and....where would be the best places to advertise?

Try the local free rags. If you sign up for a bit of advertising, say over the next 12 months, you may be able to negotiate an 'advertising feature' where they would run a little story and print a few pics.

Okay, so a yoga place.. who will go?
- Students, young prof, moms.

If there is a specialist yoga teacher and is into the sport from a mechanics angle, then other sportsmen will be part of your demographic too.

So, where do you find students, young prof, or moms?
Cafes? Student Unions?

I would definitely drop off a lot of leaflets at the Forum if you can. Or to target the Ecclesall Rd cafes too. Plus the Thyme Cafe too. I just remember that these places always had a lot of leaflets about. You may also want to try and advertise with Exposed too.

I just remember the lack of decent aerobic teachers and such classes when I was in Sheffield. I just went to the mainstream ones in Ponds Forge and was disappointed with them.

When you build up your reputation, you may also want to target businesss and companies too. I just recall a class that was done by our own colleague in our company, when I worked in Sheffield. It was a welcoming change as everyone was so stressed out. I don't know if you can provide say lunch time classes then and take it from there, but definitely something to think about.

Think about how you can make your business different, tell a story that sets you aside from other businesses. Write a one pager twice a month and send it round to all of the press. Phoning up a paper and asking for the email address of the business editor is a good place to start.

"The Forum" is a bar on Division St. There are actually a lot of promotional leaflets and things like that in various shops along that street, and West St. You have to ask the owners if they mind you just leaving some leaflets.
