No, we've got a perfectly good manager who we should stick with.

If we do get a new owner they shouldn't waste their money on re-installing the revolving door that we only recently got rid of.

I don't think Laws is a top flight manager, sorry. No doubt he's a good solid manager, but its only in the lower leagues I'm afraid. So yes I'd welcome AS he'd attract players and raise the profile of the club. One thing, if AS did take the job we'd be laughing. He's turned Newcastle and Blackburn down so we must be potentially more successful.

As I've said on another thread, Shearer really hasn't a clue how to manage
a football team. Laws has got 10 to 15 years experience. IFF (and it's a big 'IFF') we get any money in, then Laws should be given two years to see how he handles it. I personally think he'd do well. Yes, Shearer could maybe attract bigger names and bigger personalities, but could he then get them playing for him... in the right way AND be successful, or semi successful? I doubt it somehow.

Anyway, it's all pie in the sky because if we are taken over, and if the new board feel we need a new manager, my tenner says it won't be Alan Shearer.

Shearer would raise the profile of our club and attract players and staff to the club that Brian Laws can only dream about.

An absolute no-brainer.

Those suggesting that Laws should be given a chance with some real money must have forgotten his 1 (disastarous) big money signing.

God I agree with a blade for once, I don't think shearer would do us any favours what so ever.

No thanks, he's got no experience as a manager

Why would he turn down Premier League clubs just to go to Wednesday, though?

Unlike Brian Laws who had 10 years 'experience' at Scunthorpe.

I wonder why that was?

Apparantley he wants to cut his teeth with a team outside the prem before he inevitebly takes over at Newcastle
Personally id be more than happy with Shearer at Hillsborough, fair enough he lacks any experience at all but everyone has to start somewhere,Ince had no experience before he took over at the leagues bottom club Macclesfield and now he's being touted as a prem manager.
Shearer has his badges and his contacts from his playing career will be very impressive
Plus 20m to spend if takeover goes through might help a bit

Apparantley he wants to cut his teeth with a team outside the prem.

When did he say this, because two days ago on live TV he said he wasn't interested in taking a managment position because of other commitments including his media work?

I also find it hard to believe that he would turn down jobs at two of the three clubs he has a close history with (the third also has the management job up for grabs) to go to any other team, not just Wednesday. But who knows, I suppose anything can happen in football and maybe i'll eat my words.

absolutely not! if we do get taken over (big if) then i'd like to see laws given a chance and if he can't do the job then give it someone whos been there and done at this level, you can't go for a fella whos never managed plus i think hes a decent pundit on the beeb :)
