big congratulations to hodgy. never saw him play myself he finished a few month before i started going (1971) but heard many good stories about him from other blades.
nice to see all footballers arn't just in it for the mega bucks. aged 71 and still coaching keepers at oxford united.
Hate to say this(showing my age)remember his last few years, top keeper and so I'm told distant relative,in laws are Hodgkinson and only Ron Springett from our side of town kept him from playing a few games for England.

I'm with Dobby (I'm 53). Hodgy was a great 'keeper but was unlucky to be playing at the same time as the great Ron Springett, who in my opinion was the best goalie I've ever seen. If Ron had been 6ft instead of 5 foot 10, we'd have won the FA cup in '66. He'd definitely have stopped 2 of the goals.
Congratulations to Hodgy, he deserves it!
