Once went to see Julian Clary at a festival in York. He was then under the guise of the Joan Collins' Fan Club, but Fanny the Wonderdog was too ill to perform.

I have never felt so uncomfortable sat in the audience!! I was sat at the end of an aisle and I was sure he was going to get me up on stage. Actually, I'd better rephrase that: Get me onto the stage!

He was hilarious. 'Do you like Fisherman's Friends? Hmmm. Would you take my tip?' etc..,
