I have particular touble getting jeans / trousers that fit (a 30 inch waist and 36 inch inside leg).

Where's the best place to get decent jeans / trousers that fit ?

I'd have said Big and Tall but I'm not sure if they do small sized wastes.

Could try some American websites because they do sizes that standard UK sizes don't have.

Why don't you try getting your clothes tailor made for you Jamie? :)

Big & Tall are on The Moor and will help if they can. Trousers should be no problem and jeans can be ordered in.

I'm assuming that 'jamie' is male because 30/36 female jeans are not unheard of.

Try Harringtons in Castle Market. Lower ground floor. I am 36/36 and they always have stuff in that fits. I got lucky in Primark recently but you may have trouble with the 30 inch waist.

Thanks DaB,

I've been in there before and bought trousers, which they had to take in for my waist. They're great, but the clothes they have are like middle aged man clothes (if you know what I mean).

May give em another go tho, it's been a while.

I also found that www.gap.com (us website for gap company) do a range of clothes for men like me, but they don't deliver to the UK.

:(

Worth asking one of the UK gap shops for advice tho I recon.

That's a fine idea sparkle !!

I guess I could get a tailor made suit, what other clothes should I consider getting a tailot to knock up for me?

(bit of an ingnoramous when it comes to clothes).

I know what you mean about the Big and Tall... from the window the shop clothes styles do look a little dated.

Save some cash and take a visit to the states with an empty suitcase.... with the current exchange rate it's a good time for some serious bargains my man

You assumed right cgksheff ... and yeah ... it's v hard finding jeans in the 30/36 size (32/36 seems more common tho).

Primark are pretty good, especially for general black everyday work trousers. It's the only place I can get a pair of decent hardwearing black trousers 36" waist and 36" leg, and for only a tenner!

If your considering travelling to America you should also consider Japan as they will tailor make any item of clothing you choose for a fraction of the high street retail prices that are over here in the UK!

The quality of fabric they use is of much better value than over here too! :)

If 32/36 is common, the the answer is simple! Buy that size, stop excercising, and eat more pies! :D

Seriously though, it must be a real beggar for you. I'm 6ft 6in, but I can get away with 34in trouser leg. If only I could get away with a 34 waist...... I guess I could if I used a safety pin!

K x

Hmm ... you're giving me ideas now sparklesista!

A clothes shopping trip could easily be combined with a holiday to the east ...

I guess you could get cheap quality tailor made stuff all over the place (japan, china, vietnam, etc).

Yes, but you've been wearing them with sparkly white socks and mocassins. Another pop star image perfected by young K!

Seriously Jamie - you could try buyng women's straight leg jeans. Sometimes the fastenings (especially button fly) are "man-side" and I'm pretty sure that no-one would notice, and if you look for boys fit, then they won't have curvy hips (unless you do of course)!

2 Questions !! ...

1) Do they come in size 30/36?

2) Do they look all 'girlie'?

2 answers!!

1) I would imagine so - I'm a shortarse however so have never needed that leg length! Check with a jeans shop like one of those in Meadowhall

2) Nope, they won't look girlie if you buy ones that are slim-hipped (try to avoid any embroidery and/or sequins too!!).

My partner is 6' 4" and takes a 32/34 minimum, we find Matalan is good for general 'knocking about' clothes although the shirts don't fit his arms length.
The best place by far, for him, is Eisenegger at M'hell, they always have good clothes which fit all of him, and they are fairly inexpensive generally.

Oi Fergie! I've got plenty of jeans with 'detail' on them! Sequins are a different matter though... ;)
