This evening, my little darling ball of fluff reduced my digibox remote to nothing more than a block of plastic and no workable buttons. He'd already had a few off them, and decided to finish it off today.

I've spoken to Teeny and she's told me not to panic and just keep an eye on him and some other brilliant advice (including going to the vets if he's looking a little rubbery tomorrow) but I just need to know that there are other people out there who have done silly things and that more people can put my mind to rest. I need lots of reassurance.

They are quite small buttons and he's chewed them well - I'm just a natural born worrier. He's still eating and pooing so I'm happy at the moment.....

Also thank you to Teeny for her help this afternoon with the fluff bags claws! He's real trouble at the moment! (but I do love him!)

Silly bunny :( and silly mummy for leaving it alone :(

Well he may be bouncing around now but if you are unsure please contact Peak vets they will give good advise too!!
My Ellie has done more than that and survived to do it all again some day soon!!!

Well he's still eating...and eating...and eating...and eating....

I'll be up late tonight and early tomorrow so will keep an eye on him.

I've put a new layer of hay in his litter tray so I can keep an eye on his ¨output¨ and he's either just wee'd everywhere or jumped in his water bowl...... I reckon it was water bowl judging by soggy paws.

when our older bunny Bojo lived with us he ate the most funny things like socks, coasters, CD and CD cases, dog food and more and he lived to be a ripe old age lol infact i don't think there was anything he didn't try !!!

Ours if you turn your back for 2 mins eats wall paper grinds down his teeth on the coffee table, likes nice flowery curtains and is looked after lots by Tina too, she clips his claws every few weeks no charge. She has alot of good knowledge about rabbits and small furries.

I had a rescue rabbit eat all the rubber handle off a brush one day. The best thing to do if your rabbit eats something they shouldn't (unless it's poisonous in which case contact your vet who may in turn contact poison control) is to ensure they eat plenty of hay and drink lots of water. Fluid consumption can be encouraged by placing warm water in a bowl.

If you have any Fiberplex in the house (it's not a POM) then I would also advise giving that.

These items will help to keep the gut lubricated, moisturised and mobile hopefully allowing foreign bodies to pass right through. If at any point the rabbit goes off their food, stops toileting, becomes cold, lethargic or floppy, starts to grind their teeth intensely, developes a swollen or hard stomach or begin to fidget (repeatedly changing position especially if they sit hunched up) then it is vital you contact your vet as they may have developed an obstruction in the GI tract and this can quickly become life threatening.

The buttons should pass naturally due to their small size provided his gut motility is up to speed.

Thank you Sooz! He's drinking a lot (can't miss the slurping noise he makes!) and was happily munching on hay all night (again, its hard to miss it. This rabbit has no manners :hihi:)

I shall be getting some fiberplex to keep in the house in case something like this happens again...I really hope it wont be though! Although the first result for fiberplex in google was for cables LOL!

Think we might just have been very lucky this time!

Well ole greedy guts seems just fine! Happy as a hopper and lots of poo and even doing his manic head shaking and jumping 3 feet in the air.

At least we don't need to worry about him eating the remote anymore!
