bobgirlsnake 11-06-2008, 08:22 PM hi,
i was ment to be getting my son two kittens next week but have not heard anything from the person since the day i was offered them (7weeks ago)
the kitten was going to be a present for my little boy that is potty trained at last. the kitten would come to a very loving home and very well looked after!!
he would like a ginger / ginger and white one but he would love any!!
thanks x
helenasq 11-06-2008, 08:37 PM have you considered looking in a rescue centre? There are a fair number of kittens in at the moment
bobgirlsnake 11-06-2008, 09:13 PM yes but due not my partner been i'll and i cant drive i cant get to any
kblade 11-06-2008, 11:49 PM Sent you a PM and will offer all the help I can as I know how unbelievably tricky it can be. I got my little one from the RSPCA after weeks of searching and trying alsorts. He's wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and I will get the voucher for him neutered when he's old enough. I can't drive either but went over on a bus and the lady who was looking after him very kindly brought me home. But they will really try and work with you and help so much. They tried to work to the best of my circumstance and really so badly need homes for kittens :)
rich66 16-06-2008, 02:19 PM Where are the rescue centres if we need them btw ?
katkin 16-06-2008, 02:42 PM Lots of previous links about this but here's a few of the local ones
RSPCA Sheffield
The Cats Shelter
Sheffield Hallam Cats Protection
North Sheffield Cats Protection
Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
There are some local private shelters too but I can't remember them, sorry - they've been mentioned in previous threads though

thanks so much im going to call up about the 1yr old cat,she looks so sweet.
helenasq 16-06-2008, 05:08 PM she does look sweet doesn't she! I'm glad that you are considering a slightly older cat (not a kitten) as they are so often overlooked. We went down to the pound a few weeks ago and there was a gorgeous tabby in there that had been dumped in september:( and it still hadn't found a home. Luckily she is sorted now! Good luck when you ring up and I hope you do get her, they all deserve a loving home!:)
katkin 16-06-2008, 06:32 PM Older cats are usually better with youngsters as they are less likely to get spiky and scratch a toddler who tries to manhandle them. A kitten has often not yet learned how to behave around children and some rescues are reluctant to rehome kittens to families with very young cchildren because of this
bobgirlsnake 16-06-2008, 07:33 PM when i called no-one from the rehoming part was in :( so im going to call tomorrow and hopefully get the older cat but at 1yr old its not too old and still kitten like anyway!
bobgirlsnake 16-06-2008, 07:35 PM it was my little boy(3 1/2 yrs) that wanted a kitten but i think he just wants a cat in the house as he really misses our cat that went missing last year :(
channy 19-06-2008, 02:56 PM are u still wanting a kitten i so pm me for more details
bobgirlsnake 19-06-2008, 07:55 PM we have got two now thanks anyway x
