Hello people of Sheffield forum. I've been a lurker on SF for a while at work and I have finally decided to create an account for when I buy my home PC. I chose the name Pedant because it's apparent that SF needs more pedants. :-)

I wondered if you would post Jabberwocky, I feel honoured. I'm really not a pedant, well not an SF class pedant. I'm not really a sucker for detail.




Now you mention it I do notice your right ring finger may have missed the l and hit the ;, then again you could be a one finger typist and have just slammed your trusty index finger down a bit hard and slipped.

I've never posted anything like this before, to a 'newbie' but if the standard of your 'pedantry' is going to be anything like the posts you made on the Peter Andre, dad of the year thread, which now seems to have been 'disappeared', you're not going to be an asset to SF.

Aww, Ruby you bothered to post three lines. I'm honoured, though not as honoured as I am for Jabber's reply. I never said I was going to be an asset, I really don't wish to be an asset, more a pain in the asset if you will. My opinion is mine and yours is yours. Don't try spoiling my thread from the moral high ground.

Indeed, I've not even been on 24 hours and already I have my enemies. Some people really should understand that opinions really are not exclusive.

I thought the name summed this place up pretty well. Though looking at some of the replies I've had of late I think the username "Overly sentimental, hysterical crackpot" would have been better, the forum is full of those.


Still a lovely place though. (Before anybody tells me to go elsewhere if I don't like it.)

Just dont let any enemies you accrue at this early stage worry you or put you off. Most of the best and most popular posters made enemies at the start and now the forum couldnt do without them.

I don't see them as enemies, I'm sure they're lovely in someone's eyes. You get people on forums who like to stifle ones opinion no matter how offensive it may seem to be. Is it my fault I thought the word spastic was still in circulation? They were harsh to me, I could be dyslexic or something and not know many words, they attacked me first. :rant::hihi:

Well things are more... understanding these days. How I wish you could have appeared a year ago, or even a few months ago, you would have ruffled a few feathers and I would have enjoyed every word!

Most of the.... politically correct and the apologists have fled the forum for some reason, but it wasnt too long ago when this place had a bad infestation of them.

In many ways I miss them, it was good to see people of intelligence rip them to shreads.
