Tiny 29-06-2008, 11:29 PM I know of this murder, the victim was Susan Hopkins (nee Staniland) Her husband was Peter Hopkins, if you research the archives of the Sheffield Star newspaper I think it happened about 1974 you should come across the story. The trial coverage would have been some time later but I wouldn't like to say how long after the murder. As I noted you are looking for other Hopkins family members do you think you are related to this strand of the family ? missjane 02-07-2008, 06:48 AM The Star's Archives only go back to 1990, which is why I am trying to find the date so I can obtain a copy of the newspaper article from the Sheffield Library. beechnut 02-07-2008, 09:08 AM In case it will help, I just looked on findmypast.com. A Susan Hopkins died in Sheffield in the first quarter of 1975. She had been born on 3 April 1943. Tiny 02-07-2008, 11:08 AM Asked another family member who knew about this murder and she thinks it happened on 24 June 1974. You are viewing an archive.
