As its now getting hot please remember that ferrets CAN NOT regulate there body temp meaning where as humans sweat ferrets do not so they will heat up and die of heat stroke so some where cool must be available and fresh water is also there. Also a few tips place a cold wet towel in front of there hutch this will also cool the cage down or inside. Also if you have a spray bottle spray them on mist setting this will also help cooling.

I know this sounds a bit hard but so many ferrets pass away this time of year due to the heat.

Some great advice there Jedi - thank you. We make them a little swimming pool - large litter tray or underbed storage box, filled with about 1.5 inches of cool water and a few ping pong balls. Place it somewhere shady in a run with some tubing etc and they love it:)

Awww the little ferret pool sounds like a great idea, I bet they are brilliant to watch playing in there :D
