only if it has developed a leak . Air con is a refrigeration system and i used to repair them. It is a sealed system and it is usually an o-ring seal that goes . So if you have to have it regassed you'll keep having to have it regassed until you have the leak repaired . I have a Mondeo and when I bought it the aircon didn't work and that was an o-ring seal and it has been fine for 5 years.
