I wish I could help myself, but I have no clue but it moreover, it would seem, not the right equipment.

My little girl is on TV tonight; see this (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=357006)thread

Would anyone who has the necessary equipment and inclination be kind enough to record this part of the programme where my daughter features (Sarah's birthday party and one scene after) so that it can be uploaded onto YouTube please as Tricky and *Peaches*suggested?

I really must keep up with the times ....

THANK YOU to anyone who can help in advance,

Elizabeth x

I think you may find that recording and uploading bits of a TV program is a copyright violation.

How do you work that one out? Just search on 'Top Gear' or 'Never Mind the Buzzcockks' etc.

As it is on Emmerdale which your daughter is appearing, it is possible to watch it on ITV Catchup, otherwise you can record it for your own personal viewing. It is something you would love to save.

Well I will record it as will many other kind people but my brother lives in Australia so it would be nice to forward the link to him, plus others out there and in the US and we also have friends in France and their TV regions differ and are incompatible with ours.

As for copy right violations :suspect: you can see ANY old tv clip on YouTube ... :loopy:

Is this a clip of Emmerdale? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0JnicpenEY&feature=related) I've got no sound on my PC so they could be speaking Swahili for all I know and I don't know who any of the cast are.

'clips' are not against copyright violation as long as no COMPLETE episode, story line, plot or character persona is portraid... Thats how there's various clips of shows, yet full or 1/2 episodes get removed.

Well I'm hooked, is it possible to get 20 years worth of back catalogue on DVD?

Unless the 'clip' is used for one of the reasons listed in the fair use/dealing exceptions it will be a copyright violation.

* The use is deemed acceptable under the terms of fair dealing.
* That the quoted material is justified, and no more than is necessary is included.
* That the source of the quoted material is mentioned, along with the name of the author.

Im sure the 'clip' would fall under those, the material would be mentioned and im sure they could put ITV + the writers name(s) in the comments box or something ;)
