honeyb35 09-06-2008, 12:26 PM i booked my wedding a few months back, but we've moved now, I'm guessing we have to let them know the new address but does anyone know if we have to pay anything? Also, what do you do about sorting out music ect, do you just take the cd on the day and tell them which track to play when? When the bride gets there does she get taken off anywhere, so all the guests dont see beforehand (I know I got to see my OH :( ) what happens for photos - I know ir tells you on that leaflet they give but mine is in a box somewhere....lol. I know you arent allowed to take any photos during the ceremony, but you can have one person videoing it, is that right? And if you want a reading at the ceremony how do you arrange that - do you have to let them know beforehand that you want someone to do it. I know these are all questions I should have asked when we booked but the bloke was scary :hihi:
Ms_Tetley 09-06-2008, 12:42 PM I regularly work at the Sheffield registry office .. I have always been able to take photographs during the vows .. I am not allowed to take shots of the actual signing of the register but can set a shot up after .. I think it all depends on which registrar you have .. but I work with them all at some point and havnt found one yet that wont allow photographs .. well in Sheffield anyway ..some other places like Derbyshire you get the odd one who says no! :)
fluffystuff 09-06-2008, 01:26 PM When I got married we were called in before all the guests and paid the remainder of the fee and she asked if we had any music we wanted to play. I cant rememer if she asked about any readings, but she did ask if we wanted the optional part of the vows. Best to ring them up to be sure
mary70 09-06-2008, 02:02 PM you have to take the music in the week before hun and if you don want the guests or groom seeing you before you have to inform them at the same time so they can have a room set aside
jediwarrior 09-06-2008, 03:40 PM i was told today to just take my music in on the day and it depends on the registrar if i can walk down the aisle or not :s hope i get a nice registrar

what do you mean 'if you can walk down the aisle'? Surely they can't refuse that??
fluffystuff 09-06-2008, 05:28 PM it will be the person who booked your wedding that marries u too, it was at mine in august and the 3 family ones i went to in december
We booked the wedding with a strange man, but it was the female registrar who married us

waddy 09-06-2008, 07:24 PM The one i had was an old man talked really quite you had all on hearing him but he was brilliant on the dayI had him also I bet he thought I was deaf.He was playing some classical music and said I don't supose you know this music!I said ''yes I do actually and reeled it off for him :Phe was quite suprised and impressed I told him my dad loves classical and we all had to listen to it as children. He was really lovely to me afterwards.
:hihi:
honeyb35 03-09-2008, 05:56 PM I emailed the registry office today with a list of enquiries, and they got back to me very quickly! I was impressed! I don't have to show proof of our new address, just tell them when we get there. They don't allow photos of most of the ceremony but they do allow them for the exchange of the rings, the kiss, then the mock up of the signing which is ok. You are allowed to video it though so I'm getting a friend to video the actual ceremony. Music, they said just to take a CD in, but they can't promise it will play copies, so it looks like I have to find a compliation album with some decent songs on. I forgot to ask how many we're allowed, those who got married there recently, how many did you use?
They did say that I wouldnt be kept seperate from my guests or OH though which I'm gutted about.
