I'm looking to rent a cottage for a weekend in June in the Peaks in order to celebrate my 30th birthday. I'm looking to cater for approx. 10 people. I'm having difficulty finding somewhere that hires places just for the weekend. Most places I've found on the 'net only hire for a week or a fortnight. Can anybody help me out? Has anybody hired a cottage like this or have any contacts? Thanks.
June is peak season, so you'll only be able to get a late deal for a weekend

I wouldnt weant to spend an entire weekend there.
I'm all for a spot of "cottaging" <snigger>
Some good sites to try are...
www.peakdistrick-nationalpark.com
www.cottagesdirect.com
www.cottages4you.co.uk

Not the Peaks, but a friend of mines family hired out a large cottage near Ashbourne with catered for about 15, and there was a similar sized cottage next to it. I think thats on cottages for you...
Good luck!

hello, a couple of places that would hold that many.Nether ollerbrook Farm,Edale 01433 670381 and Grindslow House ,Edale(contact Mellor Braggins land agents in Cheshire)I guess you will still come up against only week bookings ,or relatively high rates for 2 nights.Or depending how much comfort you want ,how about renting a camping barn ,there are a fair few in the Nat.Park and some have this running water stuff and electric. Most don't take large single sex groups and I'd maybe not mention "PARTY" . One more plug ,there is a "Jazz in the Field "at edale on the 12th, music till bout 11Pm. ,think the Blue Circle Soul band be there again, and food and beer tents.

Thanks for all the advice peeps. We managed to find a place near Asbourne that takes weekend bookings this far in advance. We even mentioned "party" and they didn't run a mile. The jazz thing in Edale sounds good anyway. I might just check that out as well. I love Edale.
Congratulations! Have a good birthday. As for Edale, Don't be put off by the Jazz bit, the soul band play longer and Louder! The Edale Brewery always put a couple of real ale beers on ,as well as the normal cans .
