View Full Version : Where can I get cake slice boxes in Sheffield?
Has anybody seen these (http://www.i-candi.co.uk/weddingstore/cakeboxes.htm) anywhere in Sheffield?
I don't need them printed. Plain would do.
Ta
(They're individual cake slice boxes)
Well that's 22 people who either don't know or aren't saying :(
cgksheff 08-04-2005, 15:46 I've seen them somewhere, definitely, but can't think where.
I'd put my money on your old friends at John Lewis's.
It's handy having somebody who knows (nearly) everything on here  Cheers cgk.
Has anybody seen them in a market or independent cake shop? (I'm hoping they'll be cheaper there, coz they work out at 50p each where I've seen them in Perth)
I have seen them for sale on Ebay - hope this helps.
Thanks Twinky
Loads on there, but unless I buy 50, the postage bumps the price up to 'unviable'
Maybe I need to count up how many I really need

In fairness Strix, I have no idea where to purchase things like this from, but had a look at the thread 'cos it could have been about anything!
That's where all the thread views are coming from I would guess. What about getting a Mod to change the title?
Good luck on the quest!
I must admit K it was deliberate.
People may have seen them, but wouldn't look at a thread called 'cake boxes' or would conjure up the wrong picture with that title :(
Strix...Why don't you wrap up your cake in nice serviettes rather than cake boxes and spend the money you would have spent on these on:
- a nice spa treatment for yourself prior to your wedding (although your probably doing this anyway!)
- An extra bottle of champagne with breakfast...
- A new designer handbag...
- Or just put the money behind the bar at the wedding!
It's a nice touch but I am sure money could be spent on other things!!!
Been married nearly 2 weeks
THe boxes are for cake to send to people who couldn't make it.
Serviettes tend to dry the cake out, and clingfilm or tin foil are a bit ....
Have you tried www.hitched.co.uk?
I'm sure someone on there will be able to point you in the right direction.
Good Luck!

Try studio cards - currently half price £9.99 for 50 in various designs - can be personalised free!!
http://www.24studio.co.uk/ss/index.jsp
then search cake boxes under keyword search!!
Cheers cgk, I'll see what they've got.
Studio cards looks promising - given that they're half price and personalised :) Not sure about the hearts though
WallBuilder 08-04-2005, 23:07 I'm going to suggest
M. M. Bell and Sons
They are a specialist cardboard box manufacturer on Arundel street Sheffield, number 102 if memory serves me correct. They've gone more upmarket since i worked there but still seem to hold some ranges of boxes in stock.

Goodness me - Sorry - I missed out on that one! Congratulations! I knew it was sometime around now!

Do they sell to the public WB?
WallBuilder 09-04-2005, 22:55 Bells often had people wandering in off the street looking to buy boxes and if they found what they wanted they could buy any amount from one to one thousand or more.
I know they've now gone all 'posh' and deal in specialist packaging [fancy cardboard boxes in other words] If they haven't got what you want they might be able to point you at a place that does stock what you require. I still remember delivering things to competitors and being told to see if I could spot any of their customers names as all the box making companies seemed to know what the others were making.
