Hi
Can any one tell me where Shaun Lomas is based, i know he fought last week and won a title and i also know hes from sheffield but i havent seen him mentioned on here before and im intrested in sending my son to train with him i think he does kickboxing / thai boxing any help would be appreciated , some one said he trains in town and at a boxing gym but i dont know where from what i ve heard about his last fight shaun is the man for kick / thai boxing in sheffield.
I have to ask but based on a fight you've heard about and not seen, involving a guy you've never heard of or know where he trains you bold enough to say he's the man to train with for kickboxing or thai in Sheff???
As appose to say the Wicker Camp (for example) who are mentioned regular and have a number of high ranked and title holding fighters?

I think I'd have to echo Carnage's thoughts about judging someone's credentials/teaching ability on a fight you didn't even see, maybe visit his gym first and see how you feel then (if you can find out where it is).
On a side note, Shaun was beaten quite convincingly in his fight before last by Mehdi Froozi from Wicker Camp.

shaun trains at the knox boxing gym on a saturday and sunday from 5-6, i think he also runs a few other classes elsewhere in sheffield, one being at manor top and one in city centre. if u want any other info u can contact me on here or by phone at 07776447528 and i can give you shauns number etc.
i have agre whole heartly with stussonicos, go down to the gym have a look and see what you think of shauns teaching etc. if it not for you then try elsewhere.
Wicker camp is defo the place for thaiboxing tho in my opinion, its renouned as one of the best gyms in the comapny and hosts the likes of Daniel Hudson or Imran Khan.

sorry i didnt mean to offend anyone there could well be better places to train but like i said its just what ive been told, plus i dont think my sons mom would let him do thai boxing so it was more kick boxing that i am looking at, but do you have a web site for the wicker gym so i can show him and his mom, just in case i could change her mind.

Hey don't worry, no one was offended - just thought I'd give my opinion on what you should do when choosing a gym - don't make your choice on the hearsay of others, even that of the instructor. Any gym worth it's salt will let you go down and have a look around, ans will answer your questions.
The Wicker Camp website is - www.craig.beachell.btinternet.co.uk - the site is almost finished but using a different web address until it is complete and launched officially.
Our Juniors classes are taught by Trix March (one of the greatest female fighters this country has ever produced) and 2 other instructors to ensure all the children are taught in a safe, supervised and controlled environment.
By all means encourage your friend to take their child down for a look around or perhaps to have a chat with one of the instructors.
There is no push to compete and ensuring the kids enjoy their trainig is paramount. That said if at some point in the future they decide thay may want to compete our stable of Juniors fighters (including many Area/English and British campions) speaks volumes of the quality of tution and support that Wicker Camp provides.
