I don't know whether it is just me but does anyone else have an information/news addiction? Is it normal that when I get it I switch on the TV and bring up teletext and then:

- Go through all the news pages - even if the news is on
- Go through all the sport pages - even if that's on
- Go through the TV pages - even though I have a magizine
- Check share prices - even shares I don't have
- Then do it all again at various points through the evening in case something has changed - which it almost never has

I think it all started 2 years ago when 9/11 happened and I got an unquenchable thirst for information. It appears to be getting worse as I now also find myself surfing the internet in search of news fixes. I don't even know I'm doing it most of the time!

Anyone got some advice to help me overcome this addiction?

I have a similar addiction but mine is gossip! I buy lots of celeb magazines, always hitting refresh on SF and facebook to see who's doing what!

What's worse is I actually do have a life.....!!

I can think of much worse addictions...

Don't you find teletext annoying though? I used to.

Would much rather go to the www for info.

Especially when you can't figure out which is the 'hold' button, then find it, just after the page has changed:hihi:

Pretty much exactly that - since 'the queen of all our hearts' died and my brother rang , and I hadn't got a clue what had happened I seem to check the news all the time in case I've missed anything.

Do you use proper teletext or that new fangled one? I use the old one to revel in the low tech of it all, and also because I don't necessarily want to see the program that's on at the same time.

Naturally I have no advice that can help!

Just say, 'No' Zamo.

4 years to get a reply and then along come 4 at once. Typical.

Gosh, I hadn't even noticed it was an old thread.

Maybe he's moved on from teletext now?

Almost as bad as the First bus service.

I have an addiction to buying papers even when there is nothing really interesting in them. I have to buy The Mirror every day except Sundays and occasionally The Times.
