Gimp is the "Gnu Image Manipulation Program" http://www.gimp.org/ it works on Windows/Macintosh/Unix so it really doesn't matter what the computer is, and its very very good software, comparable to adobe photoshop in many ways, but gimp is entirely free and legal. Hope this helps, good luck with your designing . regards syst3m steev 08-04-2005, 14:32 Unless you want animations .pngs are all well and good, as soon as Microsoft sees fit to make Internet Explorer support alpha transparency (http://www.koot.biz/docs/overig/waarom_geen_internet-explorer.html). Until then (or until everyone starts using (http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/) a (http://www.konqueror.org/) decent (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) browser (http://www.opera.com/), that is...) Maybe in IE7, maybe in longhorn. Oooh look, is that hell freezing over? AaronD 08-04-2005, 14:38 If you just want to play around then i'd go with a Paintshop pro free trial. I think the trial is 30 days and earlier versions of the product can be found cheap enough. http://www.jasc.com/ sccsux 08-04-2005, 16:52 Originally posted by BobDaBuilder Can anyone give me a link for a decent/free/reasonably basic gif creation software....I'm trying to create a website and wanna have a play around with a few things..ta  I've got an old copy of Ulead's Gif Animator 2.0 (on a .net magazine cover from 2001) that I've never used (had already bought a newer version;)). You can have the CD if you want (or if you can't find a freeware app)? The CD also contains full free versions of Cool3D 2.0, PhotoImpact 3.02 and SmartSaver 2.0, plus demos of the newer versions. alchresearch 08-04-2005, 19:23 Originally posted by AaronD If you just want to play around then i'd go with a Paintshop pro free trial.
