Standard view consistently failing to load, have to revert to basic HTML mode to see my mail.

Anyone else experiencing this problem ?

I'm having this too. Mine just keeps loading... The bar gets to the end and starts again... I use firefox and to fix it open a new tab go to any webpage then try your gmail again... Should work first time :-)
Also switch your language the english us, you get some nice features that are not in the uk version :-)

Google mail have a new version and a new server that is much slower than the old version so that is probably the problem.

You can click the link at the top of the page to return to the older version, or better still just point your browser at http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 to use the old version.

The problem seems to be with the URL, it seems we should now be using

https:// rather than http://

I was using an ancient bookmark.
