My Mum is having trouble sleeping and says she has heard about a particular kind of milk that aids sleep but can't find any, is there such a thing or is she having a "senior" moment

I think she's thinking of the milk that Hannibal and the lads used to give to BA to get him onto an aeroplane...

Don't know if it really exists.

I might be going nuts but I'm fairly certain I heard about it when they first started selling it in supermarkets. I'll have a scout round and report back if I can find out what it is.......

Found it:

Apparently its high in melatonin and aids sleep. The wesite has a list of stockists.

Wow it must be good, 'cos I saw Jo asleep in the aisle, slumped over the trolley, from just reading the label! ;)

Has anyone actually had this? Is it any good? You all know I could definately use some!

For trouble sleeping have you tried 'Nytol, One A Night'?

I do irregular shifts and occasionally need to re-adjust my sleeping patterns. I've found it really effective. Out like a light and sleep right through. Funnily enough only with the 'One A Night' rather than the standard stuff.

(It's non prescription, but make sure you check with pharmacist before taking or buying for your mum!)

Milk contains Tryptophan which is a precursor to serotonin so good for helping you feel relaxed etc.

I find two of the 'one a night' capsules and a bottle of wine never fail to get me off to sleep! :D

Someone I know has been and bought some night milk which is supposed to help you sleep, this has got to be a con, it is normal milk in a diffrent carton with night milk written on the side, and costs more money,
Has any one got any comments or are they just taking us for fools.
