There are a few of us, we lived off Janson Street. My older brother steve and sister sue went to Coleridge Road school after Carbrook. i went to school at Millhouses so lost touch with lots of the kids from Carbrook.

I do remember Martin Sapcote; Linda Cutts; Ken and Dennis Law; Paul Padley; Lawrence and Maureen Ball; Phil Chapman; Sue Gervis; Irene Frankish; Marion Morton do any of these other namws ring any bells.

Which part of the area did you hail from?

jeano I lived in Steadfast st and if it's the Jervis I'm thinking of then even though I didn't know Sue, did she have three brothers called Steve, Dennis and Mick. If ou went to school im Millhouses was it Abbeydale and do ypu remember somebody called Carol Tattersall

miss sanderson was a teacher at the school at the bottom off carbrook st and dunlop st ,my old mate mick schofield,went to carbrook county he used to complain that they kept the girls seperate from the boys,he then went on to colleridge road ,other friends where jerry bamforth,micheal heeley,linda warris,last name could be spelt different.both mick and jerry are not here any more and i really miss them,the county school used to have a after school night from around 6 oclock till around 8 oclock.teachers from both schools used to run it.

Maureen Ball ??? she had brothers called albert and alan .albert raised a lot of money for charities...i heard when maureen was a little girl she was badly hurt by by a lorry on a zebra crossing and the driver never stopped

I think Miss Carr was the headmistress. Miss Renshaw's first name was Beryll.

Think Mrs Gillett was a teacher there , she used to take rounders. I remember Miss Wilson too - it was her first teaching post.

Phillimore and Carbrook County both attended Coleridge Rd Sec' Mod at 11 years of age.

Remember lots of fights on the ' tip ' to get the pecking order from the two schools.

coleridge boys school has been demolished some years now, the girls school is still standing but a company owns it now.

I lived on coleridge rd,and we used to knock about together, about 7 or 8 of us.i have been trying to find them for ages , but without any luck.

do any of you remember the Monks - frank , irene, janet and dorothy.all went to Carbrook School but frank went on to City Grammer irene , janet (with ginger hair) and dorothy went to Coleridge Road School. sadly frank died in a motorbike accident and irene passed away some years ago.

Yipes I can remember being scared my the wrath of Man Wilde. Felt his version of whacko, a cane he called Gerald Bone, many times across the hands. Some of the teachers I admired in later years, names of Denby, Renshaw,Middleton (h/m ), Carr (h/m),
Deakin, Wilde,Renshaw who I thought quite sexy and a looker in my childhood way but a strange nose. Plus I think a canadian teacher McTavish.
Also Castles and Alleys.
Great area to be brought up especially playing in the old bombed buildings

Brother were Alan, Albert and Ken, all still regulars at the Lane. Remember Maureen having a bad accident when a car door hit her in the face.

The kids from Carbrook County Junior School and the kids from Phillimore Road school all met up at Coleridge Road School which was the senior school. I think your mum went to Phillimore Road school first and then on to Coleridge Road, I remember her but I think Pat was nearer my age. I am 66 and left Coleridge in 1959

A lot of people on here are confusing Carbrook Church of England School down Carbrook Street with Carbrook County Junior School which was opposite Janson Street on the Common.

Yes the monks family lived on Cartonville Road I new them as we were growing up and sadly as you say Frank and Irene passed away some time ago. Frank and all his siblings were very bright students. I was the same age as Janet
