Do they just allow hosting for a single domain with that package?

Seems quite cheap, so what's the catch? ;)

Do they give sftp access and can you use .htaccess files within you web sites?

.htaccess, yes, ftp access, yes (don't know what sftp access is, sorry!) - Try the link and see i you can find the full spec....

No catch, I run two sites with them and m very pleased with the service.

My link isn't an affiliate BTW, I get nowt for promoting them....

Maggi from this forums always gives them a mention too :)

I'm still waiting to find out! Obviously, I'm not running anything 'enterprise'y - or, indeed, using everything available - but I've had quality service, so I'm happy to recommend them. And, if you're not happy in the first year that you paid a fiver for, you won't feel pushed to stay!

The 75now promotion ends tomorrow 15th June.

PHP4 scripting language - Similar to ASP

Love that! Similar in that you type it?

Seems like a good deal, though.

*grin* I suspect that page is a tad out-of-date. Here's the list of software versions (http://mycontrol.qiq.cc/versions.cgi).

Thanks maggi -I got the url for that spec by googling - obviously old and out of date..

Nope - that's still the current spec page. Will the next person who's writing to them ask them to update it please?

Otherwise, I might ask them myself at some point :)

versions.cgi is only available to logged in users. What version of php are they running at the moment?

Still I suppose for a fiver it might be worth a punt.

Just ordered a premium plus hosting offering with your code :)

Unfortunately unless I can continue to use the code forever (unlikely) then this would be a pretty expensive way of hosting a lot of domains.

Can't comment on the quality yet as I'm not able to log in :/ Ahh they have sent a log in email now, too.

Can you explain further? :) (you don't have to have the domain registered at/with QiQ - Ihave one that points to a domain at 123.reg :) )

At the moment I'd have 8 different web sites to host, which would mean 8 * 29.99 a year, or 240 quid. It'd be nice if there was an option where I could host multiple domains, or somehow save by virtue of having more than 1 order.

As it is, I think I'm paying that just now anyway, but I was hoping to make a saving overall.

Oops! For anyone else who wants to check it out, here is the test login :-
Domain name : testme.com
Password : asYqcYqt

You've now got 30 days to find the elusive 'catch' or get your money back!

Good luck :)

Ah, fair enough, now I understand.

I would suggest contacting Peter Harris (the owner) at QiQ support and seeing if he will do a deal for you - you never know!

Very nice bloke, very approachable.

Good luck!

Hi There.

Mr Mist, Please do drop me a line via a support ticket or and I'm sure we'll be able to help with your hosting.

If you do find a catch with our hosting, please let me know and I'll do my best to remove it :).

Thanks also for the feedback on the spec page. That will be corrected over the next day or so.

Cheers,

Pete

OK I am just testing a few different options just now to see what works best - so far I've not found any catch ;)

I do not have a lot of complicated web sites, just a few simple ones, for which I need to test things like speed and ease of operation. So far I quite like the control panel offering as there is a good amount of functionality.
