View Full Version : It's snowing here! Do you have any?
Kristian 08-04-2005, 06:04 I just looked out of my window, and it's snowing in Hillsborough / Lower Walkley!  Anyone else got anything? In fairness, it's that kind of rubbish, non-settling snow, but it probably means nobody in Deepcar and Stocksbridge will be able to get to work! :hihi:
Kthebean 08-04-2005, 06:07 Yes it was snowing whilst I walked to work this morning through town, gave everything a really victorian look in the street lights. It was really pretty, in a kind of "oh god I'm so cold and tired that my head has gone numb", sort of a way :)
Snowing in April, whatever next? Yes it is snowing here and I'm freezing. I want summer weather!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plain Talker 08-04-2005, 06:41 yeah, it's snowing here, too,

Cutglass 08-04-2005, 06:44 Nope no snow here, but I am in Preston so thats probably why :D
karenjane39 08-04-2005, 06:57 Yep! Snow in Gleadless/Intake too.
Last week it was t shirts and no coats! It's mad, but I love it!! Good old England!!
Ravenger 08-04-2005, 07:22 It's not unusual to have a cold snap around Easter. In fact I believe we've had more White Easters than White Christmases.
Yep we had snow in x-pool too! I am now the owner of the only car with snow on it in the car-park.
it often snows in April.
I'm sure the schools are on def con 1 for closing as soon as they see a flake settle.
Glorious sunshine in Leeds! But its flippin freezin!!
This is not a joke !
They once had to cancel a cricket match in Buxton , in June [!] because of snow .
I know Buxton is pretty high , about 1000 ft. , I think , but still..................
Don_Kiddick 08-04-2005, 08:41 Saw a few cars with a good half an inch of snow on as I walked past Meadowhell this morning.

We're at ~1200 feet and had a good half-inch of settled snow first thing this morning, - mostly gone now. Yesterday we were sat outside in the afternoon sunshine ;)
Not any more thank God. Where's the sun gone???
technophobe 08-04-2005, 12:27 Gazza: Youll have to use your carrot for something else! lol
alchresearch 08-04-2005, 12:28 I'm supposed to be camping in Edale tomorrow, looks like it's going to be cold!
redrobbo 08-04-2005, 12:49 No snow in Lowfield/Olive Grove, alas. You could see it had settled on the distant hills though. Plenty of cars coming into the city centre this morning, covered in snow.
Last time it snowed, a few weeks ago, we went walking on Bleaklow - where the snow was deep and crunchy. Kept falling through the odd patch, up to your thigh in places. Doesn't look like it will stay until the weekend - so may have to get the ironing done instead of going sledging. Pity - 'cos I love it when it snows!
BoppinBruce 08-04-2005, 13:17 Snowing Like Billyo

seanyboy 08-04-2005, 14:39 Its starting to snow down here in Handsworth area. Its not too bad (yet), but it is getting colder.
I just went out of the office for a sandwich, its snowing VERY lightly at Hunters Bar.. I was really confused when Ecclesall Road was really sunny this morning, but the odd car drove past covered in snow!
Kristian 08-04-2005, 15:31 Nothing in Hillsborough now! :(
Attempted 30 second blizzard ceased whilst I was looking for this thread
