How do you keep bearded dragons? I always believed they had to have a viv with the right temperature, lighting etc but have recently heard of people having them out and about in the house, and they actually become an integrated member of the family instead of being kept in a viv.

Do you have to keep them in a viv most of the time? Or is it personal choice?

I'm a tad confused

They need a viv as they soon get cold...They will also need a UV light
they make fantastic pets ours follow the cat all over the house lol not that the cat minds

Aw bless that's amazing!!

Maybe one day when I can afford all the accessories... (and to employ someone to feed them the little nasties they eat!)

hehe was it me that got you confused? Mine were kept in a viv set up but were out and about causing trouble when I was in. They can cope with room temperature for quite some time (Water dragons that is, don't know anything about Bearded) They had a complex set up, they have to have climbing things, a large water container and it needs to be really humid, UV lights and heat matt and lamps. Mine used to love having a bath. I really miss them :( I haven't got any pictures of them on here as I haven't scanned any but this is what Mijulie looked like http://blog.paulsveda.com/_photos/2005_12_06.jpg and AliG looked like this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b3/Chinese_water_dragon_(Physignathus_cocincinus)_Aal borg_Zoo.jpg/613px-Chinese_water_dragon_(Physignathus_cocincinus)_Aal borg_Zoo.jpg except he wasn't as red and a bit brighter green.

I remeber Ali G and Mijulie Jess.

They were quality, and actually had real character about them. However, I think I was too girly to ever hold them.

You should get some more Jess, you have loads of room for it now!

I should, but don't really have the time to train them like them two. Maybe one day I will :)

Jess22

Water dragons are amazing! You would love them Dafoot, great for photographing too, I've got some really good pics of mine.

Forgot to say earlier that those pics are great, some really big healthy looking beardies you have there! Lovely monitor too, I used to have one of those, she was a bit grumpy though  ex boyfriend ended up with her, really wish I had been more stubborn about it

Pop:

Pop has a bit of trouble shedding her skin sometimes so you can see a bit left on her toes in this picture, but don't worry we always help her out with it!!

Would love a beardie one day!
