I am wanting ideas for a hen do. Would ideally like to do some sort of activity during the day (nothing too energetic as we're not that young)and then go out for a meal in the evening. Any ideas for the activity?

salsa dancing? health spa? cinema? (what about seeing if you can hire your very own small screen and have them show your favourite girly movie/?)

Oh that'd be cool - the cinema - the showroom hire out their screens. Think they can arrange meal and stuff to tie in with it too.

I'm having my hen day at Spa 1877 off west street. Have been there before and was very impressed. People can choose what treatment they want or just pay to use the spa and so you're not forcing people to pay for something they can't really afford.

My friend arranged a little party at her house. She hired a belly dancer who did a little show for us, then gave us a lesson. At the end we split into two groups and had to make up a routine each. like a little competition! It was loads of fun.
PM me if you want her number. my friend has it and i can send it to you.

Eventually decided on a clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes and archery package at an activity centre near York. We're all really looking forward to it!

Great choice Ally! It's great that you chose something different. I just wanted to add, in case anyone else looks on the thread for inspiration, recording a song. There's companies that you and your hens can book through, but they charge £45 per person. I'd advise anyone wanting to do this to contact recording companies directly - they charge about £25 per hour. Good fun and you can play the song at the wedding do if you want!!

I can recommend a studio in Sheff. x
