Its all rumours thats in the Sheffield Star at the moment, i think Hulse might be off though and the paper are quoting £1.75m which isn't great considering we paid £2m and he scored 8 goals in the PL for us.
As for Tonge, its a tough one, he's never reallu fulfilled his potential with us though he has shown flashes of brilliance he goes missing for most of the winter months when the pitches are heavy and its time to get stuck in.
I'd wish em both well if they went, they've both done well for the Blades overall and hulse has only just returned from a horrific injury, i think he'll do well next season wherever he is.
If it means we can keep BT though i'd sacrafice Hulse.
2tjohnston 04-06-2008, 13:51 think if hulse does go then thatl pay for bts wages for another season just hope we can keep hold of bt because if he goes then god knows where the goals are gunna come from.
Earwiggo 04-06-2008, 14:24 According to talkSPORT Hulse HAS gone.
I think he proved this when he signed for United in the first place!:)
is it on the clubs website yet
Agent Gypo 05-06-2008, 00:26 £2m for Tonge? I'd take him to the train station myself for that.
No fee yet agreed (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/derby_county/7435146.stm), according to Auntie.
Ousetunes 05-06-2008, 09:29 Hulse was immense in the Premier League but sadly I see him now as nothing more than a knackered horse.
The horrific injury he sustained at Stamford Bridge is something that he will never quite recover from (if you ask me).
I truly hope he recovers; he's a top bloke. (My wife found him a house when he moved to Sheffield - she had her own Home Finding business back then.)
If he does recover and United can claw back some of the outlay they paid for him then I think everyone will be happy.
As for Tonge, £2M is a good offer and I'd take it. (But I reckon under a new manager the real Tonge might resurface and that offer could start to look a bit derisory!)
IMO, sell them both; time to move on.
freyasdad 05-06-2008, 10:30 Close to £4 million for them both, we should take the money and buy that central midfielder we want.
Splash out perhaps 5 or 6 million for one?
Again the squad is capable but fine tinkering is all we need not a major overhaul.
Not happening (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/derby_county/7435146.stm), apparently.
peterbld4 06-06-2008, 08:07 i think they should tonge go
he hasnt done a lot since brown got sold
Although Tonge's contract is up, I believe he is one of the best midfield players in the Championship when he is playing well. Since Blackwell took over he has started to show the form of previous seasons.
It would be a mistake to sell him, they need to offer him a new contract.
I'll never forget that goal he scored against us streight out of the top draw.

He signed a 4yr contract at the start of last season so its not down to Tonge if he goes or not.
Personally i think if we get a decent offer it might be time to let him go.
Blackwell has said Hulse is going nowhere.
Stockers 06-06-2008, 14:07 Blackwell has said Hulse is going nowhere.
Not heard him say exactly that but he has stated following meetings with the powers to be have told him there is no pressure to sell any of the current squad.
Maybe Blackwell will decide to sell anyway, with Hulse, BT, Stead, Sharp, Shelton and Webber as well as Jordan Robertson coming through the law of averages says you can't keep them all happy and something has got to give.
Floridablade 06-06-2008, 16:02 I think I would let Hulse go with either Stead or Webber and get a couple of good mid fielders. Without a decent mid-field it's long ball stuff and this puts the defence under pressure most of the game.

SHEFFIELD United have issued a thinly-disguised rebuke to Derby County after they accused the Blades of "sitting on seven centre forwards."
