Just after a free (or free trial) disk cloning utility, like symantec ghost. Tried draggletails great website (got some other bits and bobs off there) but couldn't find it a sweep of the nets coming up with crap + I like to be recommended software :)

Acronis! (http://eu.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/) Not free, but you can get the older version for about £10.
Acronis has never failed to restore my images, even bare metal installs.

For a freeware solution, have a look @ RSJ HD Image (http://www.rsj.de/stage/en/hdimg/default.asp) (which I linked to in March here (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=273378))

Not directly (which I think is the same with Acronis/Ghost et-al).

You can burn the image to disk, then stick the cd/dvds into a new PC and restore the image to another HD:thumbsup:

Ghosts extremely easy you just put both hdds in the computer and clone one to the other in 5 minutes, I wanted something like that but beggars can't be choosers. I'll use one of the tools suggested and burn it to a dvd and restore it from that. Needs to be done tonight thats all.
Cheers

The free Ultimate Boot CD has several ghosting/partition managers. I used one the other day to successfully transfer a HDD with XP to a different HDD.

I posted this the other day - it is imaging as well as back-up software.
