Thanks cgksheff 07-04-2005, 16:00 Prefered location? (daily commute versus access to city life?) Preferred Star Rating? 5*, B & B, Hostel? samscam 07-04-2005, 16:41 What exactly do you mean by 'cheap'? I have a week long conference in Sheffield in June. Looking at serviced apartments as they seem much more pleasant than being stuck in hotel. Kspace (http://www.kspace-apartments.co.uk/ks2/default.asp) serviced apartments quoted me £490 for the week for a one bed apartment which compares well with the hotel where the conference is being held (charging £145 per night). I was told that prices at Kspace come down the longer the stay. Saco apartments (http://www.sacoapartments.co.uk/apartment-detail.aspx?apart=461) are cheaper I think. Sheffield accomodation bureau (http://www.accommodationinsheffield.co.uk/index.php) Forget the hotel (http://www.forgetthehotel.com/) also do the same sort of thing. There seems to be a lot of this sort of thing about but I'm still wading through Google........... mjlacey21 07-04-2005, 16:51 Location is unimportant - anywhere in Sheffield is the brief, as is as cheap as possible. Have looked at serviced apartments but they are all too much. Was hoping to find just a bog standard hotel to sling him in! Tried Googling but really dont have time to look at it properly at the mo Strix 07-04-2005, 17:51 Ring the ibis and see what discount they'll do you for that length of time  Strix 07-04-2005, 17:59 Do you require mid-week only? I'm struggling for sheffield hotels. They're all pretty booked up. Left yourself a bit late for the snooker? Edit: easiest thing to do would be to e-mail everybody on this (http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/sheffiel.html) page and see who replies carriewarr 07-04-2005, 21:02 If you're looking for accommodation btwn 28th June – 23rd August 2004, the University does both B&B and self-catering visitor accommodation. Between £16 and £24 per night. See http://www.shef.ac.uk/housing/summervac/visitorvacres.html Cheers, Carrie mjlacey21 08-04-2005, 08:34 Thanks everyone - we just have someone coming up last minute to help organise an event and theres not really much left in the budget for it at this stage! mjlacey21 08-04-2005, 11:35 Sorted - just advice for anyone in future. K-space aparments are the direct company that Saco contact in Sheffield so if you book through Sacc you will pay an agency fee. samscam 08-04-2005, 11:51 Originally posted by mjlacey21 Sorted - just advice for anyone in future. Geezer 08-04-2005, 22:08 Travel Lodges are about the cheapest. Or a B&B up Nether edge way. |
