Hi Everyone,
The Sheffield Gaming Group's first pub meet will be this Thursday 5th June at 19:30 in the Devonshire Cat on Wellington Street.
Every and any gamer of Sheffield is welcome.
It'll be a great opportunity for us all to get to know each other and meet some new and interesting like-minded people.

The site didn't seem to say whether you have formed to play together, socialise etc or what platforms you play on?
Tempting but I'm working till 10 on the Hospital Radio Thursday night.

Basically the long-term plan is to rotate going round to each other's houses for decent sessions of games. As for what games, it depends on where we are and what the mood is, but really any console game goes as long as someone has a copy of it and it's good in multiplayer. I'm expecting Rock Band, Wii Sports, FIFA 08 and Halo 3 to be regular features. As for platforms, it's whatever the host has. I've got a PS3 (BC version), 360, Wii/Cube, Xbox with MD/SNES/NES/etc emus, N64, Jag, Saturn and various other bits, so whatever suits people.
We haven't met up yet so this first meet is really just a social getting to know people thing to establish we can all trust each other in our houses with all our nice gear :) I imagine there will be plenty of game-related chat on Thursday, but unless people want to bring their DSs or PSPs for some link-up play I don't think there will actually be any gaming this week.
