They may well have been a firm of solicitors. Without more background I am reluctant to do any research at all. They or he may not wish to be traced.

I hadnt realised it was so easy to do a census look up. I thought that information was confidential.

there is access via internet to 1871/1881/1891/1901 but you need to subscribe to one of the family tree sites which i am, i should imagine the one called slack will most probably be dead,i am only researching the family tree, does anyone know if there was a 1941 kellys.

Okay roughy
What about the firm Ashton Morton Slack?

Could it have been the same Slack?

Ashton Morton Slack merged to form AMS LAW.
Its a firm of solicitors very close to Armadillo storage and just off Campo lane.

The other way would be to contact whoever the secretary is for the Sheffield Law Society.

Have you tried going on Genes Reconnected or Reunited and searching on there? They are part of the Friends Reunited site.

Could still be worth a try though I joined it to do my family tree and have so far had messages from about 4 people looking for relatives with the same surname. Just another string you might say. It's free to join so although you have to pay membership to send messages to others but if I remember correctly it's only about £7.50 for the year.
