hi Ive recently purchased a nokia 7610 from a car boot sale It did have a security lock on the start up but ive got past it has got the o2 theme and screen saver on it and ive got near enough every sim card bar o2 ive tryed them all in the phone but all I get is either insert sim card or if it gets past that bit I get sim card registration failure now all my sims are registered so im not sure what the problem is I think it maybe an internal error, has anyone got any ideas of whats wrong with this phone?

Get on internet for unlock code....just search googl or similar

sounds like the phone has been locked, try with the o2 sim tho :)

2. Its got a sim lock, as do almost all phones these days. It will only work with O2. Take it to your local mobile phone shop and get it unlocked for about £10.

the phone is unlocked so do not take it to a shop and get it unlocked for £10, the phone has been blocked on o2 so that means no other network will work on the phone. you can only use the phone for camera, mp3 etc etc no phone calls or txt msgs

In that case it would seem the phone has been reported stolen and blocked from any UK network. Nice paperweight though! :hihi:

I took it to o2 shop and yeh its been stolen/lost so its now in the cop shop lol only reasons I got it was for a spare plus I had loads of spares for it which im now selling on here due to me not needing them lol, o well thanks for all your advice people atleast there's some decent people still not like the guy who sold me that useless thing

just a thought, could the person who sold it you been the owner ,who sold it to you, then reported it stolen and it got locked , then either gets another on the insurance and keeps money from you, or gets phone back from cops, either way, he has gained and you have lost :huh:
