It all sounds a bit puffy to me, men should go to a barbers and talk about football and women. It'll be flicking through Ok and Heat next under the hairdryers.

The way i look at it is that blokes get their hair cut not for themselves but for women so therefore it makes sense that you get a young women to do it after all they know what women like, i know it sounds a bit twatish but it makes sense to me. although i do fined getting your hair cut a bit of ordeal wherever you go, i have hate being forced in to conversation it's a bit to much like enforced merryment.

How much do freestylers charge? My BF is thinking about going to the one on Division St but I don't know how much to expect to pay...

Just found this thread.

The hairdressers you saw in Exposed is called Hair Kandi and it's opposite the Berkeley Precinct

I think I must have been through every hairdressers in Sheffield until I found this one. It's great, the staff are really friendly, it's not pretentious at all and the prices are very reasonable.

I go there every 6 weeks to have my roots done and my ends snipped and I would recommend it to anyone.

They have a website too http://www.hairkandi.com/ where you can occasionally print off discount vouchers.

i went to Creator via this thread (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44456) and it was great, had never seen it before, but its the biggest salon in sheffield and is cheaper than most (even if you dont get it free :P)

they have beer on their menu too.

We've just got back from Turkey and made a couple of visits to the barbers & haridressers while we were there.
Got to say it's a completely different experience to going to them here.
A hair cut at the barbers also includes a cut-throat shave (for the blokes) and a shoulder and arm massage. We got a leg shave which included full leg and back massage.
We went for a pedicure at the hairdressers and that was much more relaxed than going to a beauty salon over here. Everyone was chatting and took an interest in you - no airs and graces like you get over here!
You get drinks brought to you from the local bar - people sit around chatting - it's more of a social gathering while you get pampered!
I feel some places over here just make you feel a bit uncomfortable, especially if you're not one of their regulars.

Freestylers(One on eccy road and in town) is excellent I think it might be 15 quid for a cut.

I don't mind paying more for the reassurance that you won't walk out thinking "oh my god what have you done to my barnet" which i experienced at other places. Nice to find a place where they put in a bit of effort and you walk out thinking "yeah i look good" instead of looking like a chimp and darting to the car or nearest mirror.

Oh and there are comp drinks - coffee, tea, juice, beer.

I found Creator to be useless. There are some hairdressers, possibly Hairband, that have training nights and will chop your hair for a tenner.

Must say i am another satisfield customer from HAIR KANDI!!

not a regular though.. i have only been once.. although after only finding this gold mine recently i will be going back!!

think they price match everyone on eccy road / town and then give you a discount. guys student cut only cost me 14.40!! and that was with a senior stylist who as moved to hair kandi from halo!

Atmosphere is awesome def no airs and graces.. the peeps in there are just down to earth.. this is more your social scene like you said above.

my girlf is goin there next week and she has been a long term customer of another eccy road salon..

no ****.. they are damn good! give em a try! promise you won't be disapointed

Took Chris to Freestylers (Division st) and he came out looking fab! The cut and style was only £15 and it looked amazing! :D It's been cut ever so well so it really is wash and wear (which is really good for chris as he's so awkward with his hair) lol

It was done by Sarah :)

'Trim please.'

Two minutes later.

'That'll be £1.50. Owt for the weekend sir?'

'Na! Cheers.'

'Sithee in a month then.'

Afternoon spent itching inside your shirt.

For the best cut and customer service it has to be Taylor Taylor, either their salon on Division Street or the ones on Surrey St.

Also great for price!
