Does anyone know where I could donate some instruments, I think there are a couple of violins,either a double bass or cello, sorry for being so vague but they have been in my shed for 2 years after an old friend of ours died she used to be a music teacher so would rather donate to a youth orchestra or similar.

Sheffield music services - Part of the Education Authority might take them. They're based at the Bannerdale Centre on Carterknowle Rd. Sorry i haven't the number, but they're in the phone book under Sheffield, Education.

Thanks for that Wilmawhyman I will give them a ring been wondering what to do with them for so long, Im sure our friend would have liked this idea.

Ill get them out in a day or two and have a look can let you know what there is then, I need my OH to help and he has hurt his back at the mo, Will let you know at Jellys friday.

I have just started to learn cello but have borrowed my friend's instrument....you wouldn't be willing to let me have a look at it would you? If it is a cello that is. If it's a cello it'll stand about 3 feet tall [without the spike extended]

I know I'm a bit late, but I don't suppose you still have that cello? My son wants to start lessons but I can't afford to buy one and I can't find anywhere I cant rent one?

Hi, If you do know of any instruments my daughters school could do with some ! They use SMS but at present they have 1 tutor for 1 hour per week for approx 50 kids at a time, the kids have been told that after xmas it will only be a select few as there are not enough instruments to go round [they are sharing] Please if there is anyone out there with spare violins or any other musical instrument that they no longer need, Concord school could do with the help. I've bought my daughter a violin so she will be ok, but the other children will have to wait and see.
