At least they are consistant with their PC's then :)

I thought Dell laptops were supposed to be mid-range?

cheaper one (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/homepage_q1_w10_inspn_1000_N04105?)

more expensive one (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_1150?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs)

the site does seem to be down.

There are no reliability issues with dells. The biggest issues they have are sometimes flaky customer support and occassionally getting the spec wrong. However i gained a 60GB harddrive out of their mistake (a 2nd one in addition to the first that is).

Must have missed it, as it says £350 but when you click on customise and buy price goes up :( Or am I doing something wrong?

If you click "customise and buy" and then click the "1 year European collect and return" option instead of the standard package which is highlighted in green then it knocks £105.74 or £94 off the price depending on which laptop it is.

I don't think there is one. If you look on HotUkDeals there are always deals like this. I got my mum and dad a new Dell PC for just over £250 before christmas, it was only a Intel Celeron D 300 but it came with a 17" monitor and even a free MP3 player worth £57, not bad.

Hope the deal is still on this evening, sent the link to my other half and he said we could discuss it.

Better than an outright NO, which is what I was expecting :)

Well I've had two machines from them in the past - one with a 3 year next business day warranty never had to call on them once! I've since used some of the part on one to upgrade a machine with - it was still working fine but was too slow and the other is still going strong and I am talking over 4 years now for the one still used.

My daughter has just bought one of these cheap laptops and I set it up for her. It's the base model so doesn't have extra connectors etc but seems fine to me especially for the money - she paid £419 for hers though.

A friend bought one of those cheap Dell laptops a few months ago and I used it for a while as I connected it up to broadband for her.

They're really very good considering the price.
