Anyone heard it yet? The video was on channel 4 last night. I think its a top tune, they're very much on the top of their game with this one. Whenever Oasis bring a new tune or album out they just blow away all the pretenders to their throne as the greatest British rock band.

I can't wait til their new album is out next month. And I especially can't wait til I go and see them in Manchester in July. COME ON!

I heard it on Monday or Tuesday on the Colin and Edith show. Nothing wrong with it, can't fault it - it's just all been done before - by Oasis themselves and by the Beatles.

It'll be a huge hit no doubt, and it's perfectly ok. There's just nothing inspired or meaningful about it.

StarSparkle - don't know why, but I hoped for more

PS Now the New Order single - that's how to come back after a spell away

Listen to the Piano at the beginning of 'Don't look back in anger'

Exactly like 'Imagine' by John Lennon

You got that right f_g  - although the Buzzcocks are right behind them!

Edit: Actually no - if Marion count as a Manchester band (they're from Macclesfield), then they're the greatest Manchester band!

I just heard the new track.

What a load of ****. Thought they were getting back on track, last album wasn't bad. Let's hope the new album isn't as dire as the single.

Wrong thread, I fear, but MY fave lyrics are:

There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die...

and....

and on cold leather seats well it suddenly struck me
I just might die with a smile on my face after all....

Don't ask me why, I just do!

cant blow away people from a throne you aint even fit to clean

im sure free, queen, led zeppelin, whitesnake, black sabbath etc.... would have something to say about the greatest british ROCK band.

oasis is occasionaly pleasant pop. until he starts whining the songs....if noel sang then they would be more popular and i personally think his voice is better than that nonce liams

The opening few bars are like 'Street Fighting Man' by the Rolling STones.

This was pointed out subtly by Bob Harris last night who played the Oasis song then the Stones song straight after it. :)

Oh Bob, you wag you!

It's exactly like Street Fighting Man

The vocals sound similar, except that Mick Jagger is 100 times better....

They've got so much cash, the least they could have done is hire a good director and make a half decent video even if the song is awful.

As it stands, both are crap.

And Oasis have never been anything like best british anything, even when they had two good albums out back in't day.

Anyone notice how much the chorus sounds like Craig Mclauchlans (long haired-non Jason Donovan-fella from early neighbours) hit 'Hey Mona'?

I like oasis, the songs aren't to hard to play on guitar
They are a bit like status quo
