I have recently watched 'The Incredibles' with my brood. We thought how great it would be to have the power to be invisible and what we could do?

I think I would like the ability to be able to split myself into 5 because with 4 kids and a bloke there is never enough of me to go around! :help:

I have to pop for invisibility, telepathy, the power of flight and telekinesis. Don't know that I'd be that super ........ I suspect that I'd abuse them for personal gain.

And also I'd like admantium claws like Wolverine!

I'd just like the ability to know what a man is thinking!!!!

(but I guess you fellas would say the same about us too eh?)

Other than that... I'd like the ability to go forward in time so I could find the lottery numbers out for the next rollover!!!

I think thats bad idea siān - your own mental images are disturbing enough without getting everyone elses too! :P

Invisibility would be useful, as would the ability to eat nothing but pies and cakes without getting scurvy

I'd like the ability to stop women having womens problems, The world be such a peaceful place to live in...:hihi: :hihi:

dawny1

Since most of 'womens problems' are caused by men - the ability to make babies without men could be good!!!

Only joking - I love you all really! :hihi:

invisibility is al very well, but rather disgusting when you eat.

teleportation is fine providing it doesn't equate to trans luminar speeds, if it does, you end up creating havoc with everything.

The super power that we could all get within our lifetimes will be bionics.

Artificial Knees to Bionic Eyes - it's all in the pipeline.

The Bionic Eye idea is doubly interesting it is theoretically possible with existing technology.

Sterilised coral, a lightweight, organic substrate has been used to manufacture artifical (cosmetic) eyes that move in tandem with the good eye. Coral was chosen because of its unique properties - human tissue happily grabs a hold of it and can grasp it through the irregular and microscopically rough interior channels.

In quite recent experiments researchers have been successful in transmitting, digitally, a simple image (3x3) in colour down the optic nerve. Crucially the brain's plasticity of function especially with regard to eyesight allows it to gradually learn to make sense of more or less any kind of consistent impulses arriving through the optic nerve.

By coupling these two technologies, one imagines in the not too distant future it might be possible to have a non medical eye transplant where another bionic eye is transplanted into your head.

This eye could give you the power to see in ultra violet, to sense electrical fields, to zoom, to detect pretty much anything in the electromagnetic spectrum, from gamma rays to high frequency radio waves . It could allow the superimposition of information over the visual field in one eye, leading the way to "augmented reality" with an unimagined level of integration.

So, for me it would be X-Ray and everything else vision.

That's exactly why I'd like to be able to read people's minds!

To find out what people are REALLY thinking, rather than just going by what they say. I'm really crap at interpreting body language, so a bit of help with reading people would be very welcome!

I would like the ability to become really, really thin at will - then I could slide up the inside of drainpipes and jump out at people enjoying their roof gardens. Imagine their surprise and delight! I would also like to be able to consume herculean amounts of alcohol and pastry based foodstuffs, then turn up for work the following day. Hey, I'm a Super Hero already!

I would like to be able to time travel - but not to the future as I dont want to see things before I should..... no, I would like to be able to travel back in time and live through things again.....

a) To when my dad was alive and relive some of the happy times

b) To when my dad was alive and I said things that I now regret (not big things, but things I would say/do differently with hindsight)

c) To relive my wedding day again - it went so quick.......

d) To go back to yesterday and not snap at my sister when she suggested something I didn't agree with but now after thinking things through - she was probably right......

Think you get the picture......

EDIT: Hmmm, I would have to be able to do some sort of future travelling type thing to get back to the present again after I had relived the moments........ erm...... I think I need to think this through more......

The power to always get served first at the bar would do very nicely. So would the power to jump the queue at Waitrose. I don't ask for much.

Power to teleport - especially at night, just to teleport myself into bed would be nice! Also, as I hate housework with a passion hitherto unknown to mankind. I would love Mary Poppin's power of getting things done at the click of my fingers - real power!!

I'd love to be invisible - for personal purposes only mind:heyhey:

The first thing I'd do would be to go and pay a visit to the Sheffield Eagles training ground. :D

If I couldn't be invisible I'd like to be able to turn into a borrower so either way I could sneak myself in the locker rooms:hihi:

The difference is that women already reckon they can understand us...!
Although a woman who was designed by a certain beer company...could 'probably be the best woman in the world'....

ooops sorry I already have her  and she knows that...

This subject came up on another thread....(about prostitution - dont ask!)

So to add more questions to the one dawny started....

If you were a super hero......

What would your name be
what costume would you wear
and what powers would you have......

I'd be Super Lurker
with an invisibility cloak
able to make myself invisible and make other people who i didn;t like disappear!

I would like to have the ability to fly... this would make things alot easier travel wise...

I'd be able to jump off my bedroom window ledge and fly South to see my Family :) (How cool would that be)

Also: The ability to understand Men (inc reading they're minds) get them into thinking a way women does... something needs clearing up/putting away etc... make nasty people's mind's think nice caring thoughts...

Song alert! song alert! "Make it a better place for you and for me!" Name that song in one

Oh and the ability to live without money... (thats a tough one) Its a free world lol

My favourite super hero is The Shadow, so 'clouding' peoples minds by the force of concentration sounds appealing.

But if I was going Marvel, i'd want the ability to be invincible to disease, illness or any type of mortal damage, I'd also like to be able to increase in size so I could knock buildings down and flatten cities rife with crime. Oh, and having a magic touch so I could heal people.

I would like to have a Babel fish, just the same as in "Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy".

To be a true Polyglot and be able to communicate and understand 8 or 10 languages like a native, would be truly wonderful. Maybe if I live long enough I might be able to have a brain upgrade in 2050 ?

Purely on a useful note I'd like to have instant teleportation, transport and travel is such a waste of time.
A full 3D illusionist would be great, like the rooms on Deep Space 9 where the crew can create a whole place, weather, atmosphere etc, then I could create the illusion of being at meetings when I'm not, calm people down with tranquil areas, explore when I'm bored, confuse terrorists and warmongerers and put them in places they would never consider creating problems, let politicians have the experience of living in the the real world and so on.
A very useful tool IMO.

DragonofAna
16-07-2005, 21:21
Yeah madowl. Unfortunately that must mean that most women are dyslexic as they hardly ever get it right. Especially concerning romance.

But reading minds could be fun - until you read the mind of someone who wants to do unpleasant perverse things with your sister and then you beat the c*** out of them and get locked up.

Bit of a dangerous business mind reading. And would you limit it to just human minds? That dog you pass on the way to work each day - knowing it is just biding its time before it bites your nadgers off!!!
