At todays Sunday walk (1st June) it was decided that next Thursday, 5th June that we would meet in the Fulwood Inn bottom car park at 6.15 p.m., and go for a shortish walk of maybe 3-4 miles, and then have a drink or two at the pub afterwards. We may also fit a pub stop in during the walk if at all possible. Not sure at the moment the exact route of the walk, but I'll have something sorted by Thursday. (See post no 11, added 2nd June)

The no 40 and 85/86 services serve Fulwood I think, see First Mainline website for more details.

Neoteric and myself are going to discuss future walks on the night, and invite anybody who turns up to give us their input.

Car's now full that we're in, sorry! There is a bus from Hillsborough that goes round that way, not sure of the number though.

Got the walk sorted now and it will be a round walk of about 3.5 miles. Briefly we will follow the Porter Valley route by heading down Riverdale Road from the Fulwood Inn to join the River Porter at Bingham Park from where we will walk up the Porter Valley to Forge Dam. Just before the dam we will return to the starting point by road, going via Brookhouse Hill and Fulwood Road.
This will be quite a sedate walk, mainly on the flat, and if anybody is fancying coming along for the first time, it is an ideal opportunity to enjoy a casual stroll and at the same time meet some of the regulars.

Welcome back Lu! Brought some nice weather back with you, let's hope it keeps up for tonight.

That was a lovely walk with a great turn out, a smashing bunch of people and some nice beer!

Just to echo Taxman-a perfect evening walk with plenty of beer stops!

What a great turnout for a midweek walk, 15 in total who were Linchpinlulu, Mr Linchpin, Taxman, Lady Vega, Princess Vega, Billysmum, Neoteric, Inkie, Inkie Major, Inkie Minor, Hippychick3, Scoobz, Hemlock, Mr Hemlock, Logiebaird.
Lovely night for it too, warm enough to sit outside pubs all night :o and even for walking!
Cheers to Inkie for the lift. Have a good 'un in London next weekend :)
