A while back there were a few threads started by people asking what the maternity services were like at Rotherham Hospital, so I just wanted to say I had my little boy there nearly 3 weeks ago, and wanted to say how fantastic they were. The staff were great. Everything about my stay was good. 2 midwifes delivered him, Lisa (a student midwife) and Mariam, and they were both fantastic, a big thank you to both of them. Because I had a forcep delivery a dr obviously was involved, a dr datta and she was also fantastic and she even came to see me the next day to explain what had happened and why things had gone the way they did, which I thought was really good.
Also a special thanks to the staff in the special care unit as he ended up back in hosp after a couple of days with Jaundice and the staff on there were also great, we were even allowed to stay over in parent accomodation, which I think was very good, as we didnt have to leave him.
Overall, although the birth had its complications and I wouldnt do it again, the staff at Rotherham, made it much more positive than it could have been.
