Does anyone know whether Playstation 1 games will play on a Playstation 2 console? Just someone at work told me they would and you could get lots cheap!?:confused:

Plus most PSX1 games are CDR based where most PSX2 games are DVD based so PSX1 games are prone to disc read errors on PSX2 consoles....only way to prevent it is to regularly clean laser lens! Thanks for the tip. Is tthere any particular product you you recommend to clean the lens? I have noticed that when playing the Half-Life CD on PSX2, the console makes a louder noise than when it's playing a DVD game...this was probably because I left the game on pause for an hour or two...stupid I know :blush: HarrietStar 07-04-2005, 08:49 i'm currently playing final fantasy 7 on the playstation 2 but i have a playstation 1 memory card plugged in so i can save - cost about £5 from that game shop on the moor i think. I've just splashed out on one today, I've been looking at it for a long time now and have finally made the leap into a HD based PS2. Should be coming tmrw yipee! Anyone else got theirs done? It kills the loading times dead! |
