Hi,
Ive driven past the dyslexia treatment centre (DDAT) by Centretainments, but wondered if anyone had any experience of it. I had a look at the website (ddat.co.uk) but it seemed mainly set up for kids, not adults. Has anyone been there?

I tried to get there myself but due to the serious nature of my problem I ended up at The Shetland Lexus centre! That ferry is a bitch! But i got a good deal on the latest model!

Perhaps the replies previous to mine were genuine and i've misunderstood, in which case i apologise, but it seemed to me that they were taking the p***, and with regard to your comment, i think that laughing with people is different to laughing at them. also, i don' t think it's a particularly nice welcome for a new forum member...

Thanks, youve all been exceptionally unhelpful, and more than a little cutting, apart from ANVIL. Maybe I should stick to reading threads about bus drivers in future, and not risk actually posting.

It can be hard to tell granted but personally I find it's a good idea not to assume that someone joking about a subject has no experience of it.

Oatescamilla did try to contribute (after we discussed this thread in the chatroom) & it was also linked to the tickertape yesterday.

Maybe over the course of the weekend you'll receive some replies to this thread that you find helpful

My apologies if my attempt at humour caused offence. But I do indeed believe there is a dyslexia centre somewhere near the bottom of The Moor. I think it is on the corner of Cumberland Street/Eyre Street, which is just off The Moor.

I offered the information as a potential alternative for soccermom to investigate. I don't have any other details though.

This is where I come in, Having Dislexia I had a great time when I drove the buses, because I could not read the running board very well I used to run to my own timetable, I was only late twice in 5 years.

I said that not all forum users found dyslexia amusing - if people can laugh at all the disadvantages, trials, tribulations and hardships that they face/have faced, then that's absolutely fantastic, but other people laughing at them when they have no idea who that person is or what their attitude is to their disadvantages, trials, tribulations and hardships is frankly downright insensitive.

i appreciate that no offence may have been intended, and i don't want to attack anyone personally, but such comments in a room full of children would prompt the utterance of the much repeated myth that 'there's nowt as cruel as kids'

Hi a new dyslexia treatment & training service has just opened in Nether Edge. Dyslexia Awareness & they are suitable for both children and adults. You could have a look at the website for nothing.
