View Full Version : Scaffolding to rear of house...

I need to do some maintenance work on the back of my house (standard terrace), sanding windows, painting etc. I can probably reach one side of the house with a ladder no problem, but the offshot kitchen with a sloping slate roof means I can't do the other side. As I'm somewhat averse to crashing through roofs I'm assuming scaffolding is the way to go.

Does anyone know of any scaffolding companies who'd be able to hire (and possibly erect) some scaffolding? Also, any idea as to what the cost of this might be for say 2 weeks?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

hi, your looking at about £200 at most for the scaffolding, should't be anymore than that.
try a local paper for a local scaffolding company.

In view of the scaffolding costs and maintainence - wouldn't it be better to seek the price of new uPVC windows?

Yeah possibly new windows are the way to go, however, I'm looking at different options at the moment as the rear of the property is rendered and needs painting as well, plus some work to dormer window and roof etc, hence why getting scaffolding in may offer a "cover all" option whereby quite a few different jobs can be done.

Ta for the suggestion though. Anyone know a sure fire way of winning the lottery? ;)
