title was pretty self-explanatory really!
Does anybody know if it has closed, and if so, why?

According to an email I had from their mailing list:

"The One Eleven Club is now closed. Please refer to the website for details......we are planning to re-locate towards the end of the year. Thankyou for all your continued support and we look forward to seeing you soon."

me thinks there is a money problem and that statement is a cover up, may be wrong thou. Why would you close a business that is doing well?, especially for so long and over the summer months (presume your busiest time). Ifthey were doing well, surley the move would have been quicker.

maybe with a more realistic pricing policy they may fare better...

Just heard that the venue has shut. Does anyone know if the place is actually up for sale?

I can't imagine that it will be up for sale knowing the owners.

does anyone agree with me here? I'd love to go to a jazz club but I am not prepared to pay £10 to get in (unless its a special night) and then get shafted for silly beer prices...

I have to admit to knowing nothing about jazz, but The Lescar has a jazz night on Wednesdays for about 3 quid. I'm sure it's not to the standard of the one eleven, hence the price difference, but it always seems well attended.

I totally agree. I have really wanted to go to some of the gigs but would much prefer a more relaxed chilled out place where i dont feel i have to dress up and sit down to a formal gig. also the food prices were crackers and also the beer. theyd get the real fans if it was how i said.

TherThere does seem to be a gap in the Food and Jazz market now though. Cafe Rouge do JAzz on Wednesday evenings but it just seems to be two (talented) guys playing in the corner rather than the bands that used to play at 1-11

Only went to one-eleven a few times but I liked it - sorry to see it is closed.

They did lower their entry prices for early week nights.

Haven't seen the OneEleven band play yet so hopefully see the same lineup at another venue...
