Hi all

I am looking to hire some effects lights for a chairty event taking place in our Church this saturday, but i dont know where to go! The only place i have been able to find is Stage Electrics in Birmingham!! Does anyone know of a place in sheffield that will do me some decent lights for cheep as poss? This is a charity event and any money we spend on lights will be taken away from the various charities we are supporting so we really dont want to spend too much money!!!

Telephone numbers/websites would be great as i am in Leeds until friday night so i wont be able to go and see the folks!

I was looking recently for this but outside of sheffield.

Put 'audio hire' into yell.com. Trust me ;)

The place on Staniforth road that used to be cloud music hire out lights.
The last time I used them they were 15 quid each for a weekend.

Try the students union they have lots of equipment and hire it out if it's not used. Don't know the number off hand but if you phone 2220000 and ask for the technical manager of the students union you should get him, if not pm me.

Would they hire out to non students?

Yes, they run it as a professional hire company. The entertainments employs a technical manager who is also in charge of hiring out equipment. I'm not sure of how much it costs etc. , they often require a crew member to be hired with it - as it common with many pa/lighting companies but I'm not 100% - prob worth enquiring.
