Hi everyone,

I have had a look at the other posts RE virises etc but I wanted to check that that's what is wrong before I go through all the stuff with that.

This problem started the other night, I can't access Facebook or search in Google. I am using Firefox. I can only access webpages through my favourites toolbar at the moment, (hence I can get on Sheff Forum!)

I can't even type anything into the search bar to get to a different address but I can follow links to things.

Is this likely to be a virus? I had something annoying popping up the other night before all the problems started saying to check my PC but I cancelled it through Task Manager and didn't click on it.

It just seems strange that it is stopping just Facebook and Google Searches?

Any help appreciated! If I need to do virus checks I would appreciate links to them too as that's the only was I can access them :-( Strangeness!

Have you done any checks for spy/malware?

I have AVG on my computer but thats all I have, I have managed to download something new by searching SF and following some links to Virus/Spyware stuff.

Is that likely to be the probelm? I just wondered why it would onyl affect Facebook and Google Search (the Google homepage comes up but i guess that's just stored on the PC?)

I'm quite confused by it all!
