Hi has anyone got an allotment on the Rivelin Valley and where abouts? We have just got a plot down there. My mother in law has met a few people down their but we havent really seen anyone when we have gone down. Is there a group of you that meet up or chat on here? I heard there was a meeting in the cafe once a month. Maybe we could have a rivelin valley allotment mega thread?

Off topic, but hope you can help...
Live just up from Rivelin Park and go jogging down Rivelin Valley road past the allotments. I've fancied getting an allotment down there for a while and wouldn't mind taking on a plot that needs quite a lot of work! How do go about getting a plot?

I'm hopefully taking over my mother in law's Rivelin one next year, just down the slope from the school. Am very excited, and would hope it would be a bit of a social thing, as well as back breaking veg growing :P Will be watching this thread to see if there is a group or allotment society. I may also be looking for someone to share my allotment with, so if anyone's interested, and doesn't mind my kids being around (2 boys, primary age) let me know.
