who is wearing a veil for their wedding? I've no idea whether to or not. My dress is red, and I'm also wearing a hooded cape (the hood is just for show) so it might look a bit odd. However, I like the idea of a veil, it kind of makes me feel like a bride as opposed to just wearing a posh dress!! :hihi:
If I do decide to wear one I've no idea what the best way will be. I'm wearing my hair up (I think) in kind of a loose relaxed style, and am also wearing a small tiara.

Have you already got your dress? A veil may look nice on you mind.

I can't say whether i'm wearing one or not cos he'll read it :suspect:

:hihi: yes i've got my dress, its off ebay so i never got the chance to go to a bridal shop and try all these different things on! I knew I'd never afford a dress from a shop though, and mine is perfect for me :) I guess I could buy a really cheap one and see, then buy a nicer one later if i decide to go for it

I've already bought my veil! :D
When trying on dresses at shops it really finished the whole thing off & made me feel like a princess.
There was a particular style I liked, which was £65 at Blushes, and I saw it being sold on preloved for £10 so had to snap it up!
I will be having my hair up in a bun so I think the veil makes a big difference but if your hair is going to be down I don't think a veil is as important.
Also, would it go with a red dress?? You would need a red veil to match... and then you need to make sure it all doesn't start to look a bit "Draculas Bride"-ish!! :hihi:

It is difficult to know what's best. I was going to wear a veil as I thought it would be the finishing touch. However my dress is very detailed with a lace overlay and none of the veils looked right. I'm going for a soft, floaty chiffon shrug instead which will still give the feel of something flowing.
Also, bear in mind that you'll be likely to take off your veil as soon as you sit down for dinner. But they do have a beautiful softening effect, like a halo.
HoneyB, maybe look for what they call a bird cage or French veil? It just goes over your face, so it won't be next to your dress.

Good luck!

It sounds nice without.
hair up and a tiara
the hood at the back
But IMHO i think the veil maybe too much
think what it will look like from the back.
but im sure whatever you decide you will look lovely

I'm almost certain I'm not going to bother....I really want to wear the cloak without it looking silly lol! I'm just trying to decide on a hairstyle now, again I'm pretty sure I know how I want it but I've got to try and see if it looks ok with my tiara. Its definetely going to be up, as I'm guessing it will be windy in december

I am wearing both my tiara was £82.99 and veil £35.00 in the sale.I fell in love with the tiara even though it was pricey as it has the same crystal flowers as my dress. My veil is ivory 2 tier with crystals and ivory ribbon trim.
