Every night for the last few years we have driven down through Handsworth and just past the shops near the split in the road for Orgreave Industrial estate there has been a man stood in his bungalow window with a yellow duster in his hand.

We dont know his name hence the Wavey Davey the Duster man name but we allways waved and smile at him when we pass. He has never waved back though untill a few weeks ago when my little lad waved and we got a little smile and wave back.

Tonight though we saw the bungalow is up for sale and appears empty.

Does anybody know the man in the bungalow with the red windows on the left hand side of Handsworth/ Retford road and is he ok. Whats his story?

He was very old and we just hope where ever he is he is ok and has a duster to wave with

I used to wave to him everyday as I passed on the 52 bus he was a really nice old guy, hope nothing has happened to him.

I used to see him coming back from Norton College in 1989 on the 52, I didn't imagine he'd still be doing it.

did he just spend all day dusting the window????? :confused:

maybe the house was empty all along and he was a ghost?

no way i used to see the waving man all the time. where is he?? anyone.....
