I have been trying to install System Mechanic 7 Pro and although it downloads and installs OK when I try to open the programme I get 2 security warnings.
Warning 1. File name OVERVIEW
Type Unknown file type 6.04Kb.
From %SCsmhtml.dll

Warning 2. File name NAVCNCL
Type Unknown File type 2.64Kb
From ieframe.dll

They ask whether I wish to download or save them. Doing either makes no difference as all that happens is the programme starts to initialise but never finishes and the only way I can get out is via Task Manager.
I am running Vista with SP1.
Any help would be appreciated

Sorry can't help you with the problem. However I generally avoid this type of software - wouldn't want it on my machine. Have you paid for it?

No Dave, it is the trial version. Have used earlier versions with XP without problems.

Thanks for your help. Have ditched System Mechanic and am using TuneUp Utilities instead. It is a bit dearer but seems to do the job well enough.
