Honestly my house is becoming a bit like a zoo  He went to visit my family with me yesterday for the first time and came home with not 1 but 2 Tortoises, i am on tortoise duty all day because he hasn't sorted their bed out yet, i always thought they were slow but these 2 can't half move when they escape :suspect:

I have temporarily kicked out Harvey (bearded dragon) and put the tortoises in there, Harvey is curled on my bed watching a DVD with LO. I wouldn't mind but it was only the other day he was whinging about how much the animals were costing to feed and jab etc :hihi:

Anyway back on topic - my cousin painted her tortoise so she could tell which is hers, i could tell the difference straight away without looking at their shell, 1 is a right grumpy little thing and hisses :hihi: how would i remove acrylic paint of her shell or should i just leave it?

I'd probably just leave it tbh. I think shells can absorb toxins (such as those in cleaning fluids) so it would be best just to let it wear off. Maybe try a gentle warm water scrub but I wouldn't go any further. Hope the beardie is comfy :hihi:

Sorry I have no advice but just wanted to say how much I loved this post! I now have visions of a bearded dragon lounging on the bed and brightly coloured tortoises being chased around the house!

Funnily enough that was what was happening until Harvey got turfed out of his home :hihi: Harvey has managed to kick LO out of the bed too, it's mating season and because he hasn't got a lady friend he is very grumpy and he kept growling at my LO :hihi: he's now fast asleep on my pillow probably waiting for me to go tickle his chin :suspect:

If there is only a small amount of paint then leave it .. otherwise, gently try washing it with a toothbrush and warm soapy water ... tortoises can feel and absorb through their shells so please, be gentle. (Says my colleague)

On an aside, I didnt think they could actually feel your touch on their shells, but apparently they are qutie sensitive.
