Hi a message from Adrian one half of the showdownevents.co.uk kickboxing promotions team.
'We are organising an event in sheffield at the Octagon centre, hopefully in November, and one of the highlights of the evening will be an eight man event, this will incorporate 8 of the regions best kickboxers (at a certain weight) perhaps around the 67 kg or 75kg ? mark in a competition where they fight for 3 x 2 min rounds and the winners go through to the next round until we have a final. most proberbly be a purse involved ( after all fighters need rewarding), best way to describe it would be similiar to how the k1 tournament is run.
But what we need first are fighters any one intrested, it doesnt matter about the weights yet as we will gather as many fighters as possible then decide on the weight catogary at a later date so heavy weights could also be involved,
And again this could be a low kick (k1 type) rules or full contact depending on the competitors, but ideally we would like fighters from the local area to take part. This is a great oppertunity for fighters and instructors a like to step in to the ring and let their gloves do the talking for once.
